The Board of Directors realized the need to include the branch conveners in these leadership courses. These corresponded to the con— veners of the standing committees of Home Economics, Health and Social Welfare, Agriculture, Citizenship, Education, Cultural Activities and United Nations. Through a panel discussion, these conveners in local branches were given a wider knowledge of their particular programs and how best these could be presented at their monthly meetings. At this time it was customary for each Provincial Convener to write a circular letter to all branches. This was intended to be informative and to be a basis for the monthly program.

It was found expedient to include a review of the responsibilities of the officers of the District Convention Areas, as it was customary for the president and secretary of the local branch hosting the Convention to be the officers of the District Convention.

In 1965 the usual workshop time was extended to a full day seminar attended by representatives from all convention areas plus the members of the Provincial Board.

In 1966 the executive of the Board decided to provide a longer seminar to allow for in-depth study in certain areas. A committee of Mrs. Clarence Marchbank, Mrs. Lincoln Dewar and Mrs. Frank Ross met with Mr. Rudi Dallenback, Rural Development Officer with A.R.D.A. to discuss the implementation of such a course.
