That night the National News on CBC. gave a generous time slot to praise this novel project of the Prince Edward Island Women’s In-

stitutes.

The same pattern has been followed each succeeding year, with the Dept. of Environment providing free plastic bags for Clean-Up Day, and all media giving full co-operation. Visitors remark on the tidy roadsides, and our citizens have become very litter conscious. Other voluntary groups, such as Allied Youth, 4-H, Red Cross Youth, Cubs, Guides, Scouts and Brownies, Lions, etc. join the ranks of the volunteer workers who try to maintain a Clean Island.
