MY YEARS AS NATIONAL PRESIDENT FLORENCE I. MATHESON
To be President of the Federated Women’s Institutes of Canada during any triennium is most interesting, exciting and memorable, but above all a very great honour.
To have been President for the 1964-1967 Triennium was to have all of the above elements plus the added activities associated with the Observances of Centennials both here at home as well as across the
Nation.
It was at the F.W.I.C. Convention in Wolfville, Nova Scotia in June 1964 that I was elected to that high office of President, which terminated at the Guelph Conference in June of 1967, when we ob- served both the 70th Anniversary of the origin of the Women’s Institute and the 100th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation.
