* As guest speaker at the Provincial Conventions of the Federated W.I. ofP.E.I.;

* As guest speaker of the International Rotary Club of Charlot- tetown;
* At church groups both of men and women;
* At Young Peoples Societies;
* Radio and TV appearances.
On the above occasions and on others, I have been pleased to have been able to supply information on many facets of the work of the Associated Country Women of the World and hopefully we have all become more aware of how many are the things that unite women all around the world and how few are the things that divide.
Over the years, hospitality was given to me by the Canadian Societies as well as by Societies in England, Scotland, Ireland, United States, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Australia. In turn, I was happy to give hospitality, on many occasions, in my home to sister members from all provinces of Canada, from the British Isles, United States, Australia and India. Included in the guests were two International Presidents, Mrs. Dutt of India and Mrs. Farquharson of England.
The year 1974 was exciting for two special events: -
* I was presented with the Premier of P.E.I. Award for Distinguished Citizenship.
* I was invested as an Officer of the Order of Canada by HM. Queen
Elizabeth II in Ottawa. * At a later date I received the Queen’s Jubilee Medal.
Not only were these honours to me for my part in our work but also to our membership for the work having been done and continuing to be done in an organization which is the only International Organization of Rural Women - 8 million strong - encircling the Globe of every class, every colour and every creed with the common goal of raising and enriching the standards of life for our members, our families, our communities and human beings everywhere - an unselfish common sense organization which the world sorely needs and which has given me an education; an experience; a more tolerant understanding of people, friends, memories and souvenirs all of which are priceless. Life memberships, Provincially, Nationally and Internationally keep me abreast of the progress and projects on every level of the work.
My sincere thanks and appreciation to our “Rural Women’s University - the Women’s Institute” for giving me the honour and the opportunity to serve in such a way.
