If we are justiļ¬ed in concluding that any of the American tribes are of the Northmen, or European origin, we can only by compa- rison consider the Esquimaux as such: their stature, habits, and features being not only different from the aborigines of America, but closely resembling those of the Greenlanders, who are believed to be of European descent.
