Chisholm dining room table: Nancy Thomson MacFadyen’s dining room table is sur- rounded by an ornately embossed machine pressed carved apron. The five legs are turned and squared and supported by four stretchers. The brackets between the center leg and the stretchers feature a uniquely incised daisy petal design. Baptist Church Communion table: A gift to the Tryon Baptist Church on May 1, 1897 from William Chisholm and Son, the table top is skirted by an open dowel apron. The squared legs have incised vertical lines and ring turned bottoms and tops and are sup- ported by side stretchers only. The traditional Chisholm stalk and leaf pattern, enclosed by incised diagonal lines and dots, decorates the top corner leg supports. - Hazel Robinson collection.
