Point Shore, then in Victoria. The Red Cross program is still supported by the Institute in 1992, and students from the community are bussed to Argyle Shore for instruction.

Students were remembered by the Women’s Institute at graduation and at Christmas. A silver dollar was given to the Grade 10 pupils for a number of years. The silver dollars were given to Grade 8 pupils after the Grade 9 and 10 students were moved to Englewood High School. Treats were supplied at Christmas and at school closing time. Gradu- ation contributions are sent to Englewood and Bluefield schools now

that the North Tryon school is closed. Children are still supported in their academic, music, and sporting events. The Institute continues to

support the South Shore Arena with donations to the minor hockey banquet, figure skating, and the annual dress carnivals.
