Many North Tryon Institute members have been honoured with Life Memberships in the organization. The requirement for Life Member¬ ship is to have completed twenty years of dedicated and active service to the organization. A nomination is forwarded from a local branch to the provincial board who must approve the submission. A certificate, signed by the provincial president, and a pin are sent to the local branch to be presented to the member. The North Tryon Women's Institute celebrated its 40th. anniversary in 1967 at a special dinner at the Tryon Baptist Hall .
