phone lines during this battle. Fresnoy was taken, but at the cost of approximately four hundred men. This conflict was the fourth and last phase of the Battle of Arras. Lyman’s name is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial along with 11,300 Canadians. A Memorial at Tryon Consoli- dated School honors Lyman, and a maple tree in the North Tryon School yard was planted by the school children in his memory.
