George got home from Chatham, NB last night, got home about one in the morning, he had a rough trip coming across in the “North— umberland”. Harry took Everett’s trunk to Cape Traverse to ship down to Montague Bridge by boat. George brought 30 lbs of flour from the mill. I set a batch of bread out of it.
November 21, 1899.
Called in to see if my cape was done, she charged me 25c for the making of it and she hasn’t touched it yet. We called into Mrs. , she was out spreading manure.
November 24th, 1899.
George started for Sydney this afternoon. He is going with Peter Stewart in his schooner from Victoria to Pictou. Bruce went down to “Union”. Janie Malone was in trying to sell shirt waist pins, ten cents each. Got my cape. Ella made it for me out of a fawn colored shawl of grandmother Leards. I boiled a quart of molasses and made candy. December 2, 1899.
John went to Victoria to meet George coming home from Sydney by steamer from Charlottetown but the boat didn’t come.
December 3, 1899.
George got home from Sydney about one o’clock came up in the train from Charlottetown and walked from Albany Siding. I was up to Mrs. Muirhead’s. George came up with the lantern after tea, we got home about eight o’clock. Good night.
December 4, 1899.
I rendered out the fat that came out of the pig we got to—day. John went to practice a dialogue for the Forresters Pie Social. December 30, 1899.
The Northumberland made her last trip today. February 1, 1900.
Joe was in and got the loan of “Ten Nights in a Bar Room”. February 5, 1900.
Snowed and blowed near all night, raining and blowing to—day. This
is a strange winter freezing up for two or three days, then it will all thaw out.
February 14, 1900. Tillie M. was in to-day got $1.00 to renew our subscription to the “Family Herald.”
Friday, February 16, 1900. Bruce has gone to school.John is down at the mill, had a letter from
George. Baked 2 loaves of bread. We are having plum pudding for dinner and roast beef and mashed potatoes.
Tuesday, February 20, 1900. We all went over to the Orange Hall to hear the new preacher.
