Clayton Thomas 's house, formerly Westview Lodge, burned on the evening of 30 Nov 1977. Clayton was hospitalized with severe burns. George Wood 's house burned in 11 Dec 1978. No one was at home. Raymond Wood 's hen house caught fire when Ray was fumigating the nests. Buildings moved James Arbing 's house, now Mrs. Richie Cameron's home, was moved to the , Augustine Cove . Albert Callbeck 's little house, built in 1938 for hired help, was sold in 1952 and moved to Albany. Roy and Lillian Cutcliffe, the Preston Beairsto family, and Claude and Annie Woodington all lived in this house. Thomas Dawson 's house, now Alexander Dawson's home, was moved from Arthur Dawson 's property to land purchased from Russell Thomson . George Hennessey 's house was moved to the edge of the marshland near the Tryon Aboiteau Bridge. Alfred Groggett built the house and later sold it to Eleza Hennessey. Russell and Minnie Carr, and then Frank and Belle Dixon , rented the house after the Hennessey's moved to Charlottetown . Hamilton and Jennie Leard bought and moved the house in 1930, with the help of neighbours and their teams of horses, across the snow clad fields and marshes to its present location. Frank and Belle stayed in the house as it was being moved. The house was owned by Merton and Frances Gamble until 1991. Everett Ives ' back kitchen went to Blain Dawson's property and, later to the Dorothy Taylor property in Tryon . Ives' Mill office was near the pond, west of the road leading to the mill, and was first moved to the southwest side of the Corner, then to the Herb Thomas farm where Olive and Blaine Dawson lived. Hamilton Leard's house was moved in 1953 from the west side of the Crossroad to Harry Dawson 's farm on the , Augustine Cove . Sterling Lord 's house was moved in 1960 from Ives' Lower Mill to the Clayton Thomas farm on the Trans Canada . The Orange Hall situated on the northeast side of the corner on the road leading to Ives' Mill, next to Chisholm's Furniture Factory , was moved before 1915 to John T. Dawson 's farm and has since been demolished. The Presbyterian manse was moved by Stephen Hardy 13 Nov 1992 to Dawson's Shore, Augustine Cove , for a summer cottage. The Leslie MacDonald and Sidney Dawson houses were moved up the hill towards the Corner when the Trans Canada was built in 1951. William Thomas 's house, the last property on the Crossroad in the North Tryon School District, was moved by Myron Dawson and even- 174
