Mabel and Wayne lived in Cape Traverse where Wayne was a potato farmer. They are retired and now reside in Summerside.

Donald MacFarlane b. Glasgow, 1759, d. 31 March 1843, bur. North Bedeque Cem., m. Marion Shaw, b. 1769, d. 4 Feb 1846, bur. North Bedeque Cem., daughter of Neil Shaw and Catherine McIvor, Cove-
head. Donald left his Glasgow home as a lad and hid on the ship on which
his brother was sailing to America. He spent some time in Virginia, then New York, before enlisting in the English army. Donald found himself in Quebec after the war, a Commissary of a Regiment. He journeyed to Halifax from Quebec, then to the Isle of St. Jean where he settled on the Rustico River. Donald engaged in farming, shipbuilding, and poli- tics during his lifetime. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly for Queens and Prince Counties from 1790 to 1805.
