David moved to Cape Wolfe, Lot 7, in 1841, where he operated mills and built brigs, barques and one schooner. David had a private tutor for his children when the 1841 census was taken. Two of David’s daughters married MacNeil men who were of the Roman Catholic faith. These boys had boarded with David and Sarah while they learned the mill trade. They turned Protestant when they married the daughters.

Amos b. 23 Sept 1836, d. 19 Sept 1918, m. 6 Oct 1875 Honora Stymiest, b. 23 Sept 1852, d. 8June 1937, Murray River. They had 6 children.

Alfred b. 1840, d. 28 Apr 1928, m. Clara Winsloe, no children. Alfred was a MLA, and inherited his father’s farm.

Sarah m. 9 Oct 1872 Joseph MacNeil, Seven Mile Bay. They lived in

West Cape.

MLellan Family

John Mclellan b. South Uist, Scotland, bur. Indian River Cem., m. Catherine MacPhee. John and Catherine emigrated to Indian River, PEI, withJohn’s brother, Angus, and their respective families in 1787.

The forefathers of the McLellans of Indian River and Grand River belonged to the Clan MacIan of Glencoe.John and Angus were the sons of Donald, the son of Angus, the son of Donald, the son of John, the son of Philip, making the Bloyce McLellan family the eleventh genera— tion of McLellans, six of which have been residents of PEI.
