Wellingon and Grace moved to North Tryon from Gamble’s Corner, Lady Fane. They first lived with Wellington’s brother, Herb, until they purchased the Michael Delaney house and store. They were members

of the Tryon Baptist Church.

Westmoreland Baptist Cem., son of FrederickJames Wilson and Carrie May Simmons.

Eleanor and Austin lived and farmed on the Branch Road, Tryon, where Heber Fall lives in 1992. Eleanor and Fenton had no children.

Eleanor Thomas and Austin Leard had 3 children:

Marshall and Martha lived in Wellington’s home in North Tryon. Marshall was a member of the armed forces during WW II. He was employed at Ives’ Mill for 20 years, later working at Cavendish Farms as a commissioner. The 1882 Atlas shows the Thomas house on land owned byJames Muirhead. Records show a transfer of land fromJames Muirhead to Michael Delaney Dec. 2nd, 1873. Michael’s son, Claude Delaney, deeded the house and store to Frank Mayhew following Michael’s death.
