Reg was born in St. Eleanors and, as a child, moved with his family to Tryon . Reg and Jessie bought a farm in Albany. Reg sold the farm to Earle Boulter in the 1930s, moved to the Chisholm house in North Tryon , and went to work for the provincial govern¬ ment. Reg moved to Summerside after Jes¬ sie's death in 1939 where he continued to work for the PEI Government, building roads and plowing snow. Reg met and married Vi Mosher, a Licensed Nursing Assistant, from St. Felix while working in the western end of the province. The land on which the Thomas house stands was owned by Thomas Dawson in the 1880 Atlas. Frank Lang , who was married to Elizabeth Chisholm , had the house built on the property in 1921. This was the first bungalow style house built in the community. Ray Tanton of Summerside was the builder. Reg and Vi bought the house by tender in May 1954 and moved from the Crossroad where they had been living in the Amos MacWilliams house. Vi and her grandson, Jeff , live in the house in 1992. Reg and Vi attended the Tryon United Baptist Church and Vi was a member of the North Tryon Women's Institute. Vi and Reg Thomas. Vi Thomas Collection . 324
