Mary Ellen Cotton , b. Miscouche , 13 Dec 1907, daugh¬ ter of Richard Henry Cotton and Ida Beairsto . Norman worked in Ives' Saw Mill for many years, did general maintenance for people in the com¬ munity, and as¬ sisted at the Chisholm Funeral Home. Norman and Mary lived on the west side of the Tryon River , across from the site of Norman and Mary Wood on their 36th wedding anniversary, Lord's Mill Thev Januarv> 1969. Marjorie Wood Collection . attended the Tryon United Church. Mary was known for her beautiful knitting, especially the socks and mittens she provided for her grandchildren and neighboring children.
