"This Division, situated as it is in one of our most industrious and enterprising communities, together with an exceedingly large membership, promises to eclipise any of its kind in the jurisdiction. The instituting officer was much elated to see so many heads of families join in to help carry on the work of moral reform ”. Its aims were laudable but one suspects the accomplishments may not have lived up to the high ideals.
