meetings the City Clerk shall be sent to the Mayor, Councillors and Recorder, three days previous to any meeting, (except in the case of an id— journed meeting, when a shorter notice may be sufficient.)

4. It shall be lawful for the Mayor of :he said City to call a special meeting of the said Eight]; Council when and as often as he may deerr. it proper, after three days’ previous notice thereof, and in case the said Mayor shall refuse to call any such meeting after a requisition for tiat purpose signed by three or more members of ' the said Council, it shall be lawful for such three or more members to call a meeting of the said Council after three days’ previous notice, which notice shall specify the business for which the , proposed meeting is to be held, and shall be signed by the members ; and in all cases of such special meetings as aforesaid, a summons to attend the Council, specifying the business to be transacted at such meetings, and signed by the City Clerk, shall be left at the usual place of abode of every member of the said Council, at least three days before such meetings. In { case of the absence or death of the Mayor or head of the Council, a special meeting may be summoned at any time by the Clerk upon a special requisition to him, signed by a majority of the members of the Council.
