     5. In caserof any emergency, it shall be law- F 
     
     ful for the Mayor, or the presiding Councillor in $3332” 
     
     the absence of the Mayor, to call a meeting of 
     
     the City Council, at such time as he may direct, 
     
     without giving three days' notice. as prescribed

     6. At the time appointed for any meeting if Absence on 
     
     one hour shall elapse without a quorum appear- gamma“ 
     
     ing, (2'. e. the Mayor and five Councillors, or 
     
     the Mayor not being there, six Councillors), 
     
     meeting shall stand 2 so facto adjourned until 
     
     the day following, {unless the next day shall be 
     
     Sunday, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday y, Christ- 
     
     mas or the First of july, and in such case until 
     
     the second day). In either case the Council 
     
     shall meet at the same hour which had been

     7. At any time that business requires it, the 
     
     Council may adjourn for part of a day, or for 
     
     one, two, or more days. On every adjournment 
     
     for one or more days, notice in writing of the 
     
     hour and place of the adjourned meeting shall 
     
     be sent to the Mayor, Councillors and Recorder, 
     
    
   
   
    
     except to such as were present at the adjourn-
