[37] 3 CAP. IV. A By-laW to Establish and éRegulate One or more Pounds. BE it enacted by the City Council of the City of Charlottetown, as follows :— 1. There shallbe onepublic pound established in, and for the said City of Charlottetown, namely on block thirteen, Where the present pound now is, or in such other place as the City Council may direct. Public Pound 2. The said City Council shall, from time to i _ . . . . Other Pounds time as occasron may requ1re, establish other pounds in addition to, or in substitution of the said pound hereby established. 3.‘ The City Council shall. from time to time as occasion may require, appoint a responsible person or persons to serve in the office of Pound-keeper, one for each of the pounds established or to be established, who shall hold their office during the pleasure of the Council, and, shall perform their duties under the direction of the City Marshal; and the salary or remuneration of such Pound-keeper or Pound-keepers shall be determined by the City COuncil. Pound Keeper 4. No person shall allow his or her horse, mule, ass, goat, sheep, swine or cattle ofany kind Cattle marge to run at large within the City of Charlottetown ; or pasture, or allow any such animal to be pastured upon any street, lane, square or public ground in the said city.
