To be im~ pounded Advertise’ men [38] allow any animal driven by him from one point in the said city to any other point inside or outside the said city to loiter or stop upon any street, lane, square, or public ground in the said city, or to walk, stray, or be upon any of the sidewalks, or boulevards in the said city: 5. It shall be lawful for the Police Constables of the said city, and {or all other persons whatsoever, residents of the said city, to cause all animals mentioned in section 4 of this By-law found running at large in the said city, or walking, straying or being upon any of the sidewalks or boulevards of the said city, or trespassing on,his or her land, or loitering or being pastured upon any of the streets, lanes or public grounds of the said city, contrary to the provisions of this By-law, to be impounded and to prosecute all persons offending against the provisions of this By—law. And the keeper of such pound shall, and he is hereby required to receive all such animals mentioned in section 4 of this By-law, and to impound the same until they shall be claimed by their respective owners. 6. The said Pound—keeper shall cause all impounded beasts to be advertised by posting a notice of their being impounded in a conspicuous place in the Police Station of said city, as soon as possible after they have been impounded. And which said notice shall contain a description of the animal, and the time and place, when and where, such animal shall be sold if not previously claimed.
