The clerk or‘ clerks of the Market, or such other officers as the City Council may appoint, ngkiglgoggtegdto shall visit in the day-time the houses, bake- p houses, shops and other places of trade or business of every baker or seller of bread, at least one day in every week, to search, view. weigh and try all or any bread which shall there be found, and if any such bread be found to be deficient in weight, or deficient in due baking or working thereof, the manufacturer or seller of such bread shall be subject to the penalties of this By-law. 5. If, in their weekly searches, the officers aforesaid shall be obstructed, opposed or 835521???” molested in the fulfilment of the respective "it“ duties, as herein prescribed. the offender or offenders shall be subject to the penalties of this By—law. 6. If the purchaser of any loaf or loaves of bread shall discover that such loaf or loaves are 353?: 333th not of the regulation weight, or shall be deficient and quality in the due baking or working thereof, or shall contain any other ingredient than permitted by this law, and shall produce such bread at the City Police Court of the Stipendiary Magistrate within the time herein prescribed, the manu- facturer or seller thereof shall be subject to the penalties of this By-law. 7. Any person or persons guilty of an in- fraction of any of the provisions of this By—law shall, upon conviction in the City Police Court of the Stipendiary Magistrate, on the oath or affirmation of any credible witness, forfeit and pay at the discretion of the said Magistrate a Penal Clause
