L63] CAP. XIV. A By-law relating to Planting the Streets and Squares. E it enacted by the City Council of the City of Charlottetown, as follows :——- 1. Whenever any of the citizens, either singly or in a body, associated for that purpose, Request to shall make known to the Mayor, by writing,pant "m their wish to plant ornamental trees in the squares or streets of the city it shall be lawful for him to give permission to that effect; pro- vided such citizens or body of citizens, shall 1n so doing, conform to the following regulations, v12 : ((1.) All trees to beplaced under the inspection of the City Surveyor, at or nearlnspection the edge of the respective sidewalks, in the different streets at such distance apart as shall be fixed by the City Surveyor. (d) Each tree to be straight in the stem or hole, and not less than six feet high. from the Size, &c. ground to the lowest horizontal limb or branch, and to be carefully planted and firmly secured and boxed up to the height offive feet from the ground. (a) The trees to be of the following kinds, viz z—Ash, Birch, Beech, Elm, Maple, Sycamore, Description of Larch or Hackmatack, Lime or Linden tree, "9‘“ Oak, Horsechestnut, Black Walnut or Butternut, Buttonwood, Locust or Acacia, and such other
