CAP. XX.
A By-law Regulating the Weight of Butter,
BE it enacted by the City Council Of the City
of Charlottetown, as follows :
I. From and after the passing of this By- lay, all Butter made up for sale, or offered or exposed for sale within the City of Charlotte- town, either in the Public Market, or in any store, shop or other place, unless put up in packages or in rolls of greater weight than one pound each, shall be in prints or rolls of one pound, one half pound, or one quarter of a pound each.
2. The City Ma1shal, or any of the policeM officers, or the clerk of the Market, or any per— son or persons deputed by him may at any time order any Butter exposed for sale in quantities representing to be one pound, one half pound, or one quarter of a pound, to be weighed ; and if such quantities be of less weight than repre- sented by the vendors or persons exposing or offering the same for sale, such Butter shall forthwith be seized and forfeited, and the offen-
der shall be subject to the penalties of this By- law.
3. Any person coming to the City Market may cause the Markw Clerk, or his deputies, to weigh all the Butter intended by him to be exposed or offered for sale, and if the several
