T/zz'rd—Any occupant of a shop or house being guilty'of a breach of the first regulation, and any owner of the property being guilty of a breach of the second regulation, shall severally be liable to the penalties of this By—law.

Penalty

. 9. Occupants of hoUses in the city shall be Banking allowed the privilege of erecting porches upon the streets, and banking their houses, during the time between the first day of November and the first day of May in each year: Provided such porch or banking does not obtrude more than qne foot six inches from the wall or the building. No porch or banking shall be allowed to remain after or before the time above named; any person refusing to remove such banking or porch after the time shall have transpired, on notice being given to remove the same, shall render them- selves liable to the penalties of this'By-law.

ID. The Surveyor aforesaid is hereby authorized to cause to be removed any porch, Powerof City . . . Surveyor to wall, fence, or obstructlon of any kind which removab- structlons; may obtrude upon or from any house beyond the line of houses in any street of the city: Provided always that before removing the same it shall be his duty to furnish the owner or owners thereof with a written notice, requesting him, her, or them, to remove such nuisance or Notice obstruction within four days after the service of such notice.
