The Mayor and Councillors shall before M d ' entering on the duties of their offices respectively be 0033:3313; sworn by taking and subscribing the oath of alle- oath giance and oath of office; and such oath shall be , administered to the Councillors by the Mayor, being himself first sworn before one of the Judges of the Supreme Court, and a certificate of such oaths having been taken shall be entered by the City Clerk on the City Minutes, and the said oaths of office shall be in the following form: MAYOR’S OATH : I, ,do swear that I am duly quali- fied, as required by l,aw for the office of Mayor, to which I have been now elected, and that I am seized or possessed of Freehold Estate, of Leasehold Estate, or of Freehold and Leasehold Estate, both together (as the case may be) for my own use, in the City of Charlottetown over and above all legally recorded ; incumbrances, of the value of sixteen hundred dollars; and that I have not fraudulently or collu- sively obtained the same, or "a title to the same, for the purpose of qualifying myself to be elected to the said office.
