CAP. XV.

An Act to Authorize the City of Charlottetown to Install an Electric Light Plant or Electric Light and Gas Plant.

ELECTRIC LIGHT AND GAS WORKS

WHEREAS it is desirable to empower the

said City of Charlottetown to erect or preamble acquire by purchase Electric Light and Gas Works, both or either in the City of Charlotte- -town.

Be it therefore enacted by the Lieutenant Governor and Legislative Assembly of the Province of Prince Edward Island, as follows:

Enactment

I. The City shall have all the powers necessary to enable it to construct electric light Citywhavn and gas works both or either, with all the 23:33:21.??? appliances for the necessary manufacture, supply, distribution and sale of gas or electric light to all persons, firms or corporations in the city for the purpose of lighting. heating and all other purposes for which electric light or gas is capable of being used, whether the same is known at the present time, or may be hereafter ascertained ; and also to purchase and after pur- chase to add to the plant of any electric light or To purchase gas company, and to improve, maintain, and

enlarge any of said works from time to time.

2. The City shall have power to employ and appoint engineers, surveyors, officers and other
