Among some of O’Leary’s prominent entrepreneurs who came to the area to start a new business was Charles Willis, 3 fine horseman. He owned several race horses which he raced throughout the Maritimes. He constructed a race track on Gaspé Road, about one- quarter mile from Amalgamated Dairies Limited. The purpose of the track was to provide a place to train his horses but it has been the site for many horse racing events. Each year Mr. Willis’ track is used to hold races in conjunction with the ”Potato Blossom Festival”.

The track continues to be upgraded and it is used for both train- ing and racing. This interest is maintained largely due to the effort of Charlie’s son, Orville and the West Prince Horsemen’s Club.
