Among some of O'Leary 's prominent entrepreneurs who came to the area to start a new business was Charles Willis , a fine horseman. He owned several race horses which he raced throughout the Maritimes. He constructed a race track on , about one- quarter mile from Amalgamated Dairies Limited. The purpose of the track was to provide a place to train his horses but it has been the site for many horse racing events. Each year Mr. Willis ' track is used to hold races in conjunction with the "Potato Blossom Festival". The track continues to be upgraded and it is used for both train¬ ing and racing. This interest is maintained largely due to the effort of Charlie's son, Orville and the Horsemen's Club.
