This massive granite stone was hauled from the property of Leslie MacAulay opposite Amalgamated Dairies Ltd . by Neil MacDonald and Erskine Silliker . Soldiers' Monument , Celebrations on Nov. 11. Each year on Remembrance Day, November 11, war veterans in parade gather at the Cenotaph to honour their comrades killed dur¬ ing two world wars. This ceremony is largely attended. At this time representation from different organizations and families lay wreaths in remembrance. Carved into the stone monument is the inscription, "Lest We Forget, Be Yours to Hold it High".
