CEMETERY
The cemetery was established on the property of Alexander Robertson next to Smelt Creek between the intersections of the St. Catherines Road and the Argyle Shore Road and the main highway. The first record of a burial was of a ten month old son of Alexander Robertson in 1865. It may have been this death that necessitated the creation of the cemetery which served the village until 1950 having been used by the Robertson, McKaig, Gillespie, Darrach, Gaudet, Boyce, McNevin, Campbell and Breakey families.
In 1976 the cemetery was re stored and the fallen stones re-erected. It survives as a reminder of a few of the early families in the community (25).
