78 The second wife of Frederick Braham was Frances Gretkay , whose father had been court physician to the King of Prussia before coming to America, probably with the mercenary troops employed during the Revolutionary War. His wife was a Parisian. There were five sons and four daughters by this second marriage: James Wolfe—died in Minnesota , 1872. Sarah—died in P.E.I. , in 1874. Henry A. P ., of Melbourne , P.Q. , born January 11, 1821, died June, 1908. Fredrica. Matilda Charlotte , married J. B. Tessier of Acton Vale, P.Q. , died 1st March, 1898. Augustus Edward Charles was born in 1824. He was elected to the Legis¬ lature of P.E.I , before Confederation and held his seat for some years afterwards. About 1900 he married for the third time, and in 1904 took up his residence at Wallace Bridge, N.S ., where he remained until July 1st, 1919, when he returned to his old home at Parrsboro, P.E.I. , and died there on July 19th, 1919. He had no children. He was the historian of the family and much of the family history in this sketch was collected by him and obtained by the writer from his widow, who was living in 1921 near Wallace Bridge, N.S ., and from his nephews and nieces. Valuable records were, however, lost in a fire some years ago. Manna ( Mrs. Geo . Howat), died, P.E.I. , 1904. Frances. John Frederick Braham , born 1833, died at Searletown, P.E.I. , January 4th, 1912. The children of James Wolfe , son of Frederick Braham , were as follows: Percy, Arthur, Kate, and Maria or Marion. The children of Henry A. P ., son of Frederick Braham , were: Kate; Emma; Charles, drowned in Yukon, September, 1911; Arthur, died at Vancouver, November, 1920; Ada ( Mrs. Vicat ), died 1921, in England ; and Marion I., now living at Melbourne , P.Q. The last mentioned has furnished many valuable documents for this biographical sketch. John Frederick Braham Holland had eight children as follows: James Wolfe , now living at Lawrence, Lewis M., living at Bedeque, P.E.I. Augustus Edward, living at Searletown, P.E.I. He has contributed much valuable information and several documents for this sketch. Robert B., of Bedeque ; Grace ( Mrs. Pethick , of Charlottetown ); Alice ( Mrs. Louis Howitt , of Tryon ); Susan ( Mrs. Dr. J. B. Champion O'Leary ); and Emma ( Mrs. Reg . Forbes, of Bedeque ). Samuel Lester Holland , son of Major Holland , was born in 1776, possibly in Quebec . On October 4, 1787, he was gazetted Ensign in the 60th Foot, but the date may be an error as he was then only eleven years of age. At nineteen he was Lieutenant in the 2nd battalion of the 60th and was killed in a duel by Captain Schoedde of the same regiment. He was buried at Quebec on March 29, 1795. There is a tradition that the Captain accused the younger man with some indiscretion at a fancy dress ball at the Chateau St. Louis . They met at a secluded spot behind Mount Royal , .
