nce of its people, the Island is without a rival. The care~ ully cultivated farms, the neat and comfortable houses, the rell kept orchards and shady groves, the churches, schools tores and post offices, all betoken a thrifty and prosperous eople. There are very few who have spent‘ the summer ionths in this province, who do not again return to their avourite haunts by its shores, verdant fields and shady roves. Its fair bays with wooded Islands offers rich duck hooting at certain times, while plover and otherfismall rame are plentiful in their season. There are splendid heet-s of water for boat sailing, and dark pools overhung by harlowing trees or ripples of miniture waterfalls offer un- ailing sport to the lover of the rod and reel. In a few of he watering places, such as Malpeque, Rustico and Souris, tisa pleasant sight to behold the fishing fleet in the arbor, as the tall masts grow dim and the Island fade rom sight in the twilight that steals over land and water. t is also a fine scene to observe them again getting under ay and sailing out to sea as the sun sparkles on the ippling waves and snowy sails. In these parts are unlimited ecreation for all who care to enjoy cod or mackerel fishing nd excellent spots for surf bathing around the sandy hores.

0n approaching the Island from the sea, it appears omparatively level, but many parts round the coast are teep, rising to an elevation of five hundred feet. Nearing 1e shores the voyager beholds imposing and picturesque cenery. The verdant slopes, luxuriously waving grain elds, handsome cottages, and fair rural seats command a, eautiful prospect of well cleared and highly cultivated nd.
