Alberton from the open waters of the gulf. Here is a splendid sheet of water and all that could be desired for yatching, etc. The large fleet of schooners, and fishing boats that seek the tinny tribe in the treasure stocked waters of the gulf, make Alberton harbour their head quarters. The eomitry in the neighbourhood of the village is exceedingly picturesque. The fine farms dotted with neat and com- fortable buildings, and the vast rolling green swells broken here and there by shady groves and luxurious orchards. While lingering around a magnificient settlement knofim as Kildare, we touch at the Capes, where the visitor cannot but look with admiration on the vast blue waters dotted with the white sails of the fishing ieet. While away across the broad gulf looms the neighbouring shores of New Brunswick. Passing through a very beautiful, and one of the most inviting spots on the Island we reach

TIGNISH the western terminus of the P. E. Island Railroad, sixty eight miles from Summer-side. t is a neat, thriving, well

kept though somewhat scattered village. The streets are well laid off and carefully looked after. The surrounding country at once gives evidence of the industry and thrift of the people. The groves and orchard surrounding the majority of dwellings indicates a love of the beautiful in nature. The land in this Vicinity is level, and the farms highly cultivated. A beautiful View of the gulf with the picturesque fleet can be obtained from a site near the church. The shore with gently sloping, smooth, hard sand beaches is about a mile and a half from here and offers tempting ‘inducements to surf bathers. The large marsh between the shore and the village, through which runs a fine trout stream emptying into Tignish river, is a capital Shooting ground 3 beginning about the middle of August, this marsh abounds With plover, curlew, and other small game. The quiet streams and ponds of Tignish and vicinity affords unrivalled sport. While the deep sea fisheries here are the most extensive of the Province. Besides, good hotels, there are a number of commodious and finely situated private dwellings whose owners could be induced to accommodate
