It has fine churches and schools. public hall, large stores, and warehouses. The streets are ell laid out, cleanly kept, and lighted at night. The \‘ourable position of the harbor on the south east of the land commands one of the finest views of the gulf between H Island and Cape Breton. Inside of the substantial'and "tensive breakwater is the sheltering resort for a very rge fishing fleet. It is also a port of call for a number of earners includingthe one to the Magdalen Islands. The ndscape of King’s County is sufficiently undulating to here it from monotiny, while the bays and winding rivers. th their silvery waters and varied banks, together with r dark and bright green foliage of evergreen trees, and '11 verdure of the meadows, make up a scene, which if tgrand is- at least beautiful and picturesque.
GEORGETOWN
A Capital of King’s County, is thirty miles from Charlotte- n. It has a magnificient harbor which remains open greater part of the year, and attractions too numerous for ail. Not far from here is the thriving villages of ‘ ntague and Cardigan, which at times present a. lively bustling scene of shipping and commercial industry. Visit to Murray Harbour, White Sands, and the many nts of pleasure or interest along the south shore of g’s County, leaves many a lingering and pleasant re- eetion in the mind of the tourist. It is a great place for ome, for health, or for a visit.
