CHARLOTTETOWN. 7 Dorsey, Goff &Co.,Boi§¥‘;‘“;‘f‘;"§3fES. llle the Public. -4.........;¢... ....... _ IN presenting this first edition of MCALPINE’S CITY Dmncrony, to the citizens of Charlottetown, I have much pleasure in stating that the advertising patronage without which it would have been impossible to have published the DIREC'l‘onY,—has been very good. In connection with the Alphabetical List there is a Street Directory with the names of Streets arranged alphabetically,—each house, barn and vacant lot being numbered. I trust that by the time another Directory is commenced the numbers will be up on all the houses,—not placed there by the householders but by the City Corporation. ‘ The present is a favorable time for the establishment of Postal Boxes on the Streets, as well as a Postal Delivery— two long felt wants, I think it is high time some action were taken in the matter. Great care has been taken and no expense has been spared to render this work as accurate as possible, and I feel confident that it will be found reliable and useful to all classes. To the press, professional and business men, as well as to the public generally who have so handsomely supported the undertaking I present my grateful acknowledgment CHAS. D. MCALPIN E, P'l/Jd’irsllm'. has all his Ready-EdeWCLOTHING DI A. Bruce manufactured on the Premises.
