The school was on William Settled by Carrs in 1771, having endured Carroll’s property according to Meacham much hardship the previous year in Prince- 1880. Carrs Creek: Flows N into Bentick Cove, Lot 17. The first grist mill owner in Lot 17 was a Carr. Meacham 1880 S/zemody R., with Hugh Carr living near carding and grist mills on it. Douglas 1925 Shemody River, but notes it is also known as Ramsay River, for James Ramsay who settled there 1770; Douglas 1925 also notes it is called Chinnick River. Shemody is said to mean “spear pole” in Micmac.
Carrs Point: Extends into Hillsborough River, Lot 37, opposite the mouth of Pisquid River. Bayfield 1846 Carr Point.
Carruthers Brook: Flows E into Mill River, Lot 5. Meacham 1880 shows C. H. Car- ruthers with a woollen mill in Howlan. Also known as Cards Brook.
