Dirty River: Flows SE into Northumberland Strait at Cody Point. Lot 63. Meacham 1880 and Douglas 1925 apply the name to Llewellyns Creek. which flows NE into St. Marys Bay.
Dixons Creek: Flows S into Northumberland Strait, Lot 62. Meacham 1880 Little Sands Creek and shows Robert Dixon with saw, shingle and grist mills. Cummins 1925 has Sam Dixon there.
Dixons Pond: On North Lake Creek at Baltic, Lot 46. Cummins 1925 notes Robert Dixon as a miller there.
Dock Corner: At junction of Highways 2 and 12 and on Dock Creek, 1/2 mi W of Al- berton, Lot 4. Meacham 1880 has Union for the school district there.
Dock Creek: Flows SE from Dock Corner to Dock River, 1/2 mi W of Alberton, Lots 4 and 5. Meacham 1880 applies it to Al- berton Creek. Hill 1821 Julia River.
Dockies Point: Extends into Tracadie Bay, Lot 35. Named for Donald “Dockie” McAulay, noted there by Meacham 1880.
Dock River: Flows S into Cascumpec Bay, Lot 5. Possibly derived from a Scottish word for short or straight. On Bayfield 1851 and Meacham 1880. Holland 1765 Ilc/iester Creek. In Micmac Togotjatjgit- joegaiig, “duck place”, possibly an erro- neous transliteration (Pacifique 1934).
Dock Road: See Brockton.
Doctors Point: Extends into Brudenell River, Georgetown Royalty. Named for Doctor David Kaye, a Georgetown physician in the latter half of 18005. Bayfield 1850, Meacham 1880 and Douglas 1925 apply it on the south side of Brudenell River in Lot 53.
Dog Creek: Flows S into Northumberland Strait at Hebron, Lot 9. Possibly a corrup-

Doirons Creek: Flows N into Hunter River at Rusticoville, Lot 24. JHA 1832 Doyrons Creek; Meacham 1880 Doirons Cr and lists John, Felix and Joshua Doiron near it.
Doirons Creek was also a school district in the 1800s.
Donagh: 9 mi E of Charlottetown in Lots 35, 36 and 48. Probably named for a place in Ireland such as Donaghmore in County Laoighis. Noted in JHA 1844. School dis- trict before 1880. Site of Johnstons River P0 in 1880.
Donalds Creek: See Ramsay Creek.
Donaldston: 10 mi NE of Charlottetown in Lot 35. School district 1834. PO 1900- 1913. Possibly given in honour of John Macdonald who had the grant of Lots 35 and 36.
Double Hill: Former name for two steep grades on Murray Harbour Road between Caledonia and Murray River. Douglas 1925 lists it as a settlement but it never had such status. PO 1896—c1898.
Douglas Brook: Flows NE into Hillsborough River at Cherry Hill, Lot 38. William Douglas (1750-1 835) came from Dumfries, Scotland 1772 and acquired land in Lot 38. In Meacham1880.
Douglas Pond: See Warrens Pond.
Douse Point: At mouth of Vernon and Orwell Rivers in Lot 57. Lovell’s Directory 1871 lists John Douse as a farmer at Orwell Cove.
