Fairfield: 11 mi NE of Souris in Lot 47. On Wright 1852. PO c1838—1913. Former school district called St. Columba for the Catholic church there.

Fairford Grove: On Map 1775 in the area of Winsloe, Lot 33. Named by Thomas Des- Brisay, probably for the Earl of Hillsbo- rough, Viscount Fairford.

Fair Play: On Bayfield 1850 and Cundall 1851 in Lot 53, 1 mi SE of Cardigan.

Fairview: 5 mi SW of Charlottetown in Lot 65. Named 1877 when the school was moved from Webster Creek because of a

good view of Charlottetown and the rivers. PO Fairview c1887-1913.

Falcon Point: On Bayfield 1845 for a point in Charlottetown Royalty extending into Hillsborough River. The site of Falcon- wood, which was the private home of John Grubb until 1868 when it became the Government stock farm. Currently Hills— borough Hospital and Riverside Home are located at the point.

Fanning: Former school district in Lower Malpeque, Princetown Royalty. Named for Lady Fanning, daughter of Governor Edmund Fanning.

Fanning Brook: 3 mi SE of Mount Stewart in Lot 38. Named for Lady Fanning who owned a large block of land in the area. PO 1904-1913.

Fanning Brook: Flows N into Hillsborough River, Lot 38. Not Jays Brook as on NTS ll L/7 1967 or Jay Brook as in Meacham 1880 and Douglas 1925.

Farmington: 5 mi SE of St. Peters in Lots 42 and 56. PO 1863-1913. School district Birch Hill before 1880.

Farrells Brook: Flows SE into Bentick Cove, Lots 16 and 17. Meacham 1880 Rush Creek, but shows Jno. Farrell resident there. Douglas 1925 notes it was formerly called Chinnick Creek for an early settler; Meacham 1880 shows Henry Chinnick at its mouth.

Feehans Creek: Flows N into West River, Lot 65. Unnamed in Meacham 1880, but Henry Feehan shown as landowner at its mouth. Bayfield 1846 and NTS ll L/3 1967 F reneh Creek.

Feehans Pond: 3 mi N of Mount Stewart in Lot 37. Both Meacham 1880 and Cummins 1925 show a Henry Feehan beside it.

Ferguson Creek: Flows N into West River, Lot 65. Noted in JHA 1831. Meacham 1880 shows Wm. Ferguson beside it. Bay- field 1846 Webster Creek.

Ferguson Creek: On Bayfield 1846 for a creek flowing NW into Mermaid Cove, Lot 48. Both Meacham 1880 and Cummins 1925 note several residents with the name Far—

quharson and people of that name still live there.

Ferguson Point: Extends into West River, Lot 65. On Bayfield 1845. Not in Meacham 1880, but Malcolm Ferguson is shown at the point.

Fermoy: Former school district in Spring Valley, Lot 18. Noted in JHA 1838.

Fernwood: 5 mi S of Summerside in Lot 26. Given for P0 1904 for the well wooded area with ferns along the roadsidesfPO Sea Cow Head 1881—1904; PO Fernwood 1904—1913.
