Harmony: 7 mi SW of Tyne Valley in Lots 13 and 14. Selected for a school c1875 because the settlers of many nationalities—French, Irish, Scottish, English, Dutch —— got along peaceably. PO 1907-1914. Formerly called Line Road.

Harmony Creek: Flows W into Souris River, Lot 45. In Meacham 1880, which also names Harmony Station, Harmony Road and New Harmony Road.

Harmony Junction: Railway junction 31/2 mi N of Souris in the community of Souris Line Road, Lot 45 . Possibly derived from New Harmony Road 11/2 mi E where farm- ers of French, Scottish, Irish and English nationalities had settled and presumably lived amicably.

Harper: 21/2 mi SW of Tignish in Lot 1. Named for William Harper, farmer and millowner who died about 1878. School district was Harpers Road. PO Harper Road 1871-01875. Harpers Brook is a trib- utary of Tignish River.

Harriet Point: On Hill 1821 for point on W side of the mouth of Dock River, Lot 5.

Harrington: 8 mi N of Charlottetown in Lot 33. Derived from Harrington Bay, the name given by Samuel Holland 1765 for Covehead Bay and Brackley Bay. The bay was named for William Stanhope (1719- 1779) Viscount Petersham, 2nd Earl of Harrington. School district 1855. PO 1888-1918.

Hartsville: 31/2 mi SW of Hunter River in Lot 22. School district 1864. PO 1872- 1914.

Haszard Point: Extends into Hillsborough Bay, Lot 49, SE of Charlottetown. Named for William Haszard (01767-1847), Loyal— ist, who settled there. His father, Thomas Haszard, came to PEI in 1785.

Hawthorne: PO 1904-1913 in Dunblane, 7 mi SW of O’Leary. Possibly named for Senator Robert Poore Haythorne (1815— 1891), Premier in 1869—1870 and 1872— 1873.

Hayden Point: Former name for a point at Scotchfort, Lot 36, extending into Hills- borough River at Haydens Wharf. Alex Hayden leased land there 1835. On Bay- field 1846.

Haydens Mills: PO 1891—1893 at Southamp- ton, Lot 41. Changed to Midgell Mills, 1893-1901.

Haydens Point: Extends into Pownal Bay, Lot 50. Meacham 1880 shows Jas. Hayden nearby, and Cummins 1925 has Mrs. Louis Hayden at the point.

Hay River: Flows N into Gulf of St. Lawrence at Clearspring, Lot 44.

Hazelbrook: 7 mi E of Charlottetown in Lots 48 and 49. School district 1893. Formerly called Back Road. PO Hazel Brook 1906- 1912.

Hazel Green: PO 1881-1891 at Riverton, Lot 52.

Hazelgrove: 21/2 mi W of Hunter River in Lot 22. Named about 1813 by Richard Bagnall, who kept an inn there, and by his brother-in—law, John Cantello, for the pro- fusion of hazel nuts in several groves of trees in the area. Noted in JHA 1832. Douglas 1925 notes its use as early as 1826. PO Hazel Grove 1867-1914.

Head of Cardigan: 3 mi NW of Cardigan in Lot 52. PO 1881—1914. School district c1880 Cardigan Head.

Head of Grand River, East: PO 1856-1868 at Bridgetown, Lots 54 and 55.
