perished near it is incorrect because his death occurred about 50 years after Hol— land‘s survey. Settlers from Glasgow c1820 called it Clyde River, and this is often found in later references, such as Meaeham 1880, p. 60. It has also been called New Glasgow River.
Hunters Creek: Flows N into Baltic River,
Princetown Royalty. Neither Meacham 1880 nor Cummins 1925 show a Hunter there. although the name occurs nearby. Bayfield 1850 Sour/i eusr Arm. Hunters Pond also occurs in Lot 18.
Huntley: 3 mi NW of Alberton in Lot 4. PO Sour/z Kildare cl 899—1903.
Huntley River: Flows NE into Kildare River, Lots 3 and 4. Named for Sir Henry Vere Huntley, Lieutenant Governor of PEI 1841-1847. On Bayfield 1846.
Huntley Rock: ln Hillsborough Bay. 13/4 mi
S of Governors Island. Named for Sir Henry Vch Huntley. On Bayfield 1846.
Hurds Point: Former name for a point in

Dunk River, Lot 26 where a Mr. Hurd, a Loyalist of some means, had a wharf to serve the Bedeque area. Also spelled Hirds Point in some references, and some maps show both forms on adjacent points. It is said the correct spelling should have been Herd.
Hyde Creek: See Mill Creek.
Hydes Point: Extends into West River, Lot
32. When Governor Patterson came to PEI in 1770 a family by this name accompanied him. Census 1798 shows Wm. Hyde as the head of a family in Lot 32. Meacham 1880 shows Henry Hyde at the point. Hydes Cove is on W side of the point.
