Ings Pond: On Fullertons Creek, Lot 48. Cummins 1925 has Albt. Ings there. Mea- cham 1880 shows a grist mill at the pond.
Inkerman: Former name for N part of West— moreland, Lots 29 and 67. Named for Anglo-French victory in Crimean War 1854. The road from Westmoreland to Breadalbane is called Inkerman Road.
Inkerman Shore: On W side of Charlottetown. Named for the home of Colonel John Hamilton Gray, and itself named for the Crimean War battle.
Inman Point: See Cameron Point.
Inverness: 7 mi NW of Tyne Valley in Lots

Iona: 9 mi SW of Montague in Lots 57 and 58. Possibly named for Iona, Scotland, although the section is historically Irish. Schools were Montague Road East and Montague Road West. PO Montague Cross

Irishtown: 6 mi NE of Kensington in Lot 20. Settled 1816 from Ireland.
Irvings Bar: Extends into Pownal Bay, Lot 50. Meacham 1880 identifies Job Irving with 128 acres there.
Irvings Cape: Extends into Northumberland Strait, Lot 63. Meacham 1880 notes Thos. and Wm. Irving there, and Cummins 1925 notes D. and W. Irving. Bayfield 1849, Cummins 1925 and NTS 11 L/1 1967 Cody Point, which is really 2 mi NE. Also known as Jolmstons Cape for Fred John- ston, noted there by Cummins 1925.
Irvings Point: Former name for a point in the community of Beach Point extending into Murray Harbour. George and William Irving were farmers there in 1880. Mea- cham 1880 spells the family name Irvine, and Bayfield 1849 and Douglas 1925 have Irvine for the point.
