Mount Carmel: 12 mi W of Summerside in Lot 15. PO Fifteen Point 1858—1899; PO Mount Carmel 1899-1914. School district Fifteen Point 1878-1904. In 1925 Douglas said that Fifteen Point was better known, but presently only Mount Carmel is used.

Mount Herbert: 5 mi E of Charlottetown in Lot 48. Named by Robert Match in 1869 for a Wesleyan minister. PO 1888-1912.
Mount Hope: 5 mi SE of St. Peters in Lot 55. School district c1882. PO 1890-1913.
Mount Mary: School name in 1800s in Lot 40 in the area of Morell. Plan 1836 shows a hill by that name near the head of Morell River. Douglas 1925 implies it is a settle- ment name, but the school name seems to have been changed to Morell c1880.
Mount Mellick: 9 mi E of Charlottetown in Lot 49. Named for Mountmellick in Ire- land. School district c1845.
Mt. Milburn Mills: On Lake 1863, 1 mi N of Clyde River, Lot 31.
Mount Pleasant: 4 mi W of Tyne Valley in Lot 12. Selected at a public meeting 1862 because of “the mutual concord and aggre— eablcness of the inhabitants with each other” (Douglas 1925). PO 1863—1913. Formerly known as Robinson’s Settlement.

Mount Royal: 2 mi SW of O‘Leary in Lots 8 and 9. Given in 1901 after Mount Royal at Montreal because the school was at a higher elevation than the surrounding

Mount Ryan: PO 1892-1919 at Johnstons River, Lots 35 and 48. Settled by Dennis Ryan c1825. His son Edward lived there all his life. Mount Ryan Hill at the church commemorates the old postal designation.
Mount Stewart: Village incorporated 1953 in Lot 37. PO from c1867. Named for John Stewart (1758—1834) who founded the village in the early 18005. He wrote “Ac— count of Prince Edward Island” in 1806.
Mount Stowe: School district c1864 at Central Bedeque. Possibly named for a famous school in Glasgow after which the PEI Normal School was modelled.
Mount Tryon: School district c1882 in Lot 27, 6 mi NE of Borden and at the head of
Tryon River.
Mount Vernon: 6 mi W of Murray River in Lots 60 and 62. Possibly named for the home of George Washington in Virginia. School district c1850 Rona. PO Rona 1874-1899; PO Mount Vernon 1899- 1918. Rona is a small island in the Hebrides.

Muddy Creek: PO 1870-1917 in Lot 17, 1 mi W of Muddy Creek, which flows into Sun- bury Cove. Noted in JHA 1845. The school district was St. Nicholas, 21 name still used in the area of the creek.
Munns Point: Extends into Hillsborough River at Mermaid, Lot 48. Bayfield 1846, Meacham 1880 and Douglas 1925 Curry Point. Meacham 1880 shows Alex and Jno. Curry, and Donald Munn there, and Cummins 1925 has Walter G. Munn there.
