Pigots Point: Extends into Gulf of St. Law— rence at Savage Harbour, Lot 38. Mea- cham 1880 identifies Jas. Pigott there and Cummins 1925 notes Fred Pigott. The family name in the area is more com- monly spelled Pigot.
Pigots Pond: At Savage Harbour, Lot 38. Cummins 1925 names Frank Pigott at the pond.

Pinette Harbour: On NTS 11 L/2 1967, but
not used, the feature being the estuary of Pinette River. De la Roque 1752 Ance a Pinet (and A nee a Pinnet).

Named for Noel Pinet (1683-?) a native of the Minas Basin area of NS who migrated to 116 Saint—Jean in 1738, settling at what became known as Anse a Pinet. Map 1750 Petite Riviere; De la Roque 1752 notes Anee a Pinet, but has Noel Pinet living at East Point. Holland 1765 Ienyns River by the French Pinet! River; JHA 1840 Jenyns River; Map 1770 Pine River. In Micmac Telesipgig, for which Pacifique 1934 gives “people of then?”
Pipers Creek: Flows W into Tracadie Bay, Lot 36. Named for one of the McInnes family who was noted as a piper. Meacham 1880 names Peter. Michael and Mathew Mclnnes there.

Pisquid River: Flows N into Hillsborough River, Lot 37. Derived from Micmac Pesigitk, “entering at right angles”, or “forks of a river”. Plan 1730 R. de Pigiguit; Franquet 1751 Riviére de Pegedieg: de la Roque 1752 Riviére de Peugiguit; Holland 1765 Hill River, possibly named for Wills Hill (1718-1793) Earl of Hillsborough, or for Captain Hill, officer in charge at Fort Amherst 1765.
