Pollard Brook: Flows NW into Northumber- land Strait at Cape Wolfe, Lot 7. This sur- name occurs in neither Meacham 1880 nor Cummins 1925. Douglas 1925 notes Pol— lard Cove in the same area.
Pooles Corner: 3 mi N of Montague in Lot 52. There were mills operated by a Poole there in 1852. Meacham 1880 shows Edward Poole at the corner, and Cummins 1925 notes Mrs. Christina Poole. a widow, there. Several by the name of Poole still live in the area. Lake 1863 Wellington.
Pond Point: Extends into Northumberland Strait, Lot 58. On Bayfield 1846. Origin unknown.

Poplar Grove: 5 mi N of Tyne Valley in Lots 11 and 12. School district 1878. PO 1896- 1914. The residence of J. F. W. DesBarres (1722-1824) in Halifax was Poplar Grove.
DesBarres was Lieutenant Governor of PEI from 1804 to 1813.
Poplar Island: In North River, Charlottetown Royalty. Douglas 1925 notes that it was named for small poplar trees formerly
growing on it. Name in use 1830. Plan 1786 York Island.
Poplar Point: 7 mi NE of Cardigan in Lot 55. Former schools were Cumberland Hill and Big Run. PO Point Poplar 1886-1892 and 1896-1914.
Poplar Point: Extends into Boughton River, Lot 55. Douglas 1925 notes that “poplar trees, rare in this section of the country, are found in abundance here”.
