Queens County: Named by Samuel Holland 1765 for Queen Charlotte (1744—1818).

Queens Point: Extends into Tracadie Bay, Lot 35. Named for Catherine “Queen” Macdonald, the widow of Capt. John Macdonald, who established the settlement in the area of Tracadie Bay.

Raasa: Former name for Mount Albion.

Raasa: School district 1838 at Melville. Named for Raasay, an island in the Hebrides

Rackhams Pond: On Wheatley River, Lot 24. Cummins 1924 shows Chester Rackham there.

Ram Island: In Malpeque Bay. Holland 1765 and Douglas 1925 Grover Island, although the latter notes Ram Island as local usage. Possibly called by the French Ile aux Sau- vages. In Micmac Nganigatagang, “old cultivated field” (Pacifique 1934).

Ram Island: In Cascumpec Bay, Lot 5. On Bayfield 1845. Hill 1821 Elizabeth Island.

Ramsay Creek: Flows NE into Lennox Chan— nel, Lot 13. John Ramsay settled there in 1770, and Michael and Malcolm Ramsay

Quinns Brook: Flows SW into West River, Lot 30. In Meaeham 1880 with Jno. Quinn a nearby settler. Meaeham also had the name Balderston Brook at its headwaters.

Quigleys Pond: On St. Peters River, Lot 41. Cummins 1925 shows Mrs. C. Guigley there. Formerly named Barges Pond; Mea- eham names Thos. Burge there, and Lewis Burge currently lives close to it.

Rayners Pond: E of Kildare River, Lot 4. Named for B. I. Rayner, noted there by Cummins 1925 with 361 acres.

Reads Corner: 2 mi E of Summerside in Lot 19. Named for Ephraim Read who came to PEI after living in NB for 32 years. In PEI he carried on tanning, currying, harness- making and boot and shoe making. Reads Creek is an adjacent feature.
