Turner, Cape: Extends into Gulf of St. Law- rence, Lot 24. Named by Samuel Holland 1765, possibly for Sir John Turner, Lord of the Treasury in 1762. In Micmac Kwe- son/'sak, “headland”. In late 1705 a Capt. Leforce was killed by this mate and buried here and for many years after the feature was called Cape Leforce.

Tyne Valley: Village in Lot 13. Named by James Rogers for the school district 1873,

Uigg: 8 mi W of Montague in Lot 50. Named for Uig, Isle of Skye, Scotland. Settled 1829 from Scotland. It is said that Donald Macdonald, a schoolmaster who arrived in 1841, added the extra “g”. School district 1851. PO Uig Lot 50 1912—1914.

Union Corner: 10 mi W of Summerside in Lot 15. School district Union Lot 15 c1890, then Union Corner 1895. PO 1898-1914. It is said to be named because the school was built with the goodwill of everyone.

Union North: PO 1904-1911 in Union Road, Lot 33.

Union Road: 6 mi N of Charlottetown in Lot 33. On Wright 1852. PO 1875-1968. Also PO Union North 1904—1911. CN station is Union.

Union Road: School district in 18005 in Lot 51, N of Victoria Cross. It remains the name of the road.

Valley: 10 mi SW of Montague in Lots 58 and 60. The school was built c1870 on one of the highest points in PEI, and thus the significance of the name is rather elusive. Although it is at the head of Valleyfield River, that watercourse was more com- monly known as Browns Creek in the 18005. Since the first settlement was Irish

probably for the River Tyne in Northum berland, England. PO from 1872. Formerl called Trout River and The Landing.

Tyrone: 5 mi S of Hunter River in Lots 6 and 31, and in the community of Emyvale PO 1899-1913, Also known as Tyrone Lo 65. Probably named for County Tyrone} Ireland.

Unionvale: 11/2 mi E of O’Leary in Lot 6.
