Wight Point: Extends into St. Marys Bay, Lot 61. Named for John Wight, a sea captain who lived there. Bayfield 1850, Meacham 1880 and NTS 11 L/2 1967 White Point. Meacham 1880 shows Adam White there, but the name should have been spelled Wight. Cummins 1925 names Jas. T. and

Leigh Wight. People by this name still live there.

Williams Creek: Flows NE into Bideford River, Lot 12. Edward Williams came from Devonshire, England in 1818 and settled there. Meacham 1880 shows Albert Wil—

liams there. Sometimes locally it is called Clip Williams Creek.

Villiams Pond: On Brooks River, Lot 12. Named for Robert Williams who built a sawmill there in the 18005.

Williams Town: On Hill 1821 in the area of Cascumpec, Lot 5.

Wilmot: Village incorporated 1965 in Lots 17 and 19 on N side of Wilmot River. Meacham 1880 Wilmot District and Wil— mot Creek.

Wilmot Valley: 4 mi E of Summerside in Lots 19 and 25 and beside Wilmot River. PO 1890-1899 Clarke’s Mills; PO c1871- 1969; until 1900 Wilmot Valley P0 was at Kelvin Grove, School district 01870 Wilmot Grove.

Wilson Creek: Flows N into West River, Lot 65. Meacham 1880 notes Hugh and Geo. Wilson there, and Cummins 1925 has George and George A. Wilson. Wilson Point is adjacent to the creek.

Wilts/are: Former school district in Lot 19 according to Douglas 1925.

Winchester Cape: Extends into Malpeque Bay, Lot 16. Cummins 1925 Charles Point, but shows Lemuel Winchester there. Named by Samuel Holland 1765 Charles Point for Charles Lennox (01734-1806) 3rd Duke of Richmond and Lennox. The name Winchester Cape is now widely known. Meacham 1880 Cape Malpeque. In Micmac Eoigasititj, “registration” (Pacifi- que 1934).
