Indians are quiet and inoffensive and for the most part temperate. Their principal occupations are farming, fishing and the manufacture of Indian wares. They had in 1897, 130 acres of land cultivated, 9 acres of newly broken land, and 120 farming implements. They raised 78 horses, cattle, sheep, etc., 1,151 bushels of grain, 695 bushels of potatoes and roots, 78 tons of hay. The value of Fish, Furs and other industries amounted to $9,545. The present Chief is John Sark.
