RINCE EDWARD ISLAND is the best fishing station in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, and the fisheries, particularly those on the north coast, are exceedingly valuable. They consist principally of mackerel, lobsters, herring, cod, hake, and oysters. Salmon, bass, shad, halibut and trout are caught in limited quantities.
